Bridget Seegers

Seegers

Bridget earned her PhD in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography at University of Southern California where she worked with research robots and satellite remote sensing to understand coastal ocean dynamics and harmful algal blooms. She recently finished a fascinating year doing a marine policy fellowship in Washington D.C. and is excited to be back on a research vessel studying the Pacific. She is originally from Wisconsin and that’s where she fell in love with water. She has a biology degree from Carleton College and a Masters in Water Resources Science from the University of Minnesota. She spent 6 years teaching in non-traditional settings including the woods of Minnesota, inner city Boston, and a San Diego charter school and aquarium before returning to graduate school. Her favorite activities include surfing and sailing and she has done both north of the Arctic Circle.
