I’m currently a postdoc at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in the Physical Oceanography Department. I spend most of my time trying to understand how the subpolar North Atlantic ocean and the Greenland Ice Sheet impact one another. Much of this work involves mixing, water mass modification, and vertical circulation. On this cruise I will try to observe some of these same processes in order to understand how flow around abrupt topography might influence nutrient delivery to the surface. Along with our team, I plan to use vertical velocities obtained from the glider to make inferences about the internal wave and turbulence fields over Cherry Bank that may influence vertical nutrient transport.
