R/V Sikuliaq Marine Geology & Geophysics Chief Scientist Training Cruise

The goal of this cruise is to help early-career marine scientists (e.g., PhD students, postdocs and new faculty) plan and write effective cruise proposals, plan surveys to address significant scientific questions, execute surveys at sea, and generate at-sea cruise reports for marine geological and geophysical research and education.

Participants will plan and execute six days of at-sea marine geophysical research that will take advantage of the ship’s installed equipment to address specific scientific questions identified during pre-cruise preparations.

This cruise takes place from December 2, 2016 to December 17, 2016, on a transit from Honolulu, HI to San Diego, CA.
