Will Fortin – student University of Wyoming – Active source marine seismology. My graduate work uses low frequency (10-200Hz) seismic sources to create 2D images of the ocean’s interior. I am particularly interested in quantifying mesoscale oceanic turbulence. Here, I am working with the high frequency acoustic instruments on board, the ADCP and echosounders, to study flow interaction with the seafloor.
Andrew McDonnell- Assistant Professor of Oceanography at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I am studying the role of marine particles in the ocean’s carbon cycle. On this cruise, I’m testing out a new underwater camera system that captures images of particles and zooplankton in the water column. I’m also serving as one of the co-chief scientists aboard the Endeavor.
